Distributor & Distributing Process

National distribution for pharmaceuticals, such as wholesalers, was relatively inefficient[1].

Public Sector Distribution:

The government supply system department in Nigeria has a Central Medical Store at National Level. There are 37 public warehouses in the secondary tier of the public sector distribution. There are no national guidelines on Good Distribution Practices (GDP). A licensing authority that issues GDP licenses does not exist. A list of GDP certified warehouses, wholesalers and distributors does not exist in the public sector.

Private Sector Distribution:

Legal provisions exist for licensing wholesalers and distributors in the private sector. A list of GDP certified wholesalers and distributors does not exist in the private sector[2].
